‘Murder and Mystery with Style from a
Bygone Era’

Come on the steam driven Golden Arrow Pullman for an evening of dining, mystery and suspense with a luxurious hotel stay included

Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th and Monday 13th December 2010

Let us welcome you on board the steam driven Golden Arrow train on the popular Bluebell Railway for a murderous evening of dining and drama. Solve the clues of the murder that is played for you by ‘The Company Upfront’. Then enjoy a luxurious overnight stay at a superb country house.

“The hotel was fantastic and the entire evening on the train was just brilliant and great fun” – Tony Cooke – Design Print Services Ltd

The period station setting and elegant Pullman dining cars are the perfect setting for this excellent event. The train authentically recreates the fabulous Golden Arrow which once linked London and Paris with a style and panache which made it one of the most desired and well known trains in the world.
“Thank you, we had a brilliant time everything was spot on, the event itself & the food was excellent, you even arranged the weather how good is that?” – Steve Baker – Stephen Baker Financial Consultants

Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th and Monday 13th December
The Deadly case of Christmas Present
Having allowed the Elves to enjoy a summer holiday on the Costa Brava, for some as yet unknown reason they have failed to return. It is now Christmas Eve and Santa has called in a few of his Pantomime friends to prepare for the big Night.

Events however do not go according to plan and a shocking murder takes place. Will you be able to solve this dastardly crime? Cross-examine the surviving suspects ,Inspect the clues,

Then report on who did it, and the reasons why?
“Hugely enjoyed the whole experience – it made a wonderful birthday surprise for my wife. Many thanks, I can’t think of anything I would have wanted to change” – Martin James

With the scene fresh in your mind, you take your seat on board the Golden Arrow, where detective packs, clues and your superb three course meal awaits you. The food and service is of an excellent standard.
“The evening was a surprise for my wife on her birthday and it was the first time either of us had been to a Murder Mystery Evening. The whole evening was excellent from the initial greeting at the Bluebell Railway to the ‘murder scenes’ and through to interviewing the suspects! The service and meal on the train was first class too. All in all the whole experience was very enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone of all ages. We would definitely consider booking a similar event in the future” – Darren Pollard

Whilst you steam through the Sussex countryside, enjoy the splendour of your wood inlaid Pullman carriage. You now become a Detective to question the surviving characters and suspects, inspect the evidence, examine clues and carry out other Detective tasks to decide the who, how and why!
“A very enjoyable and well organised event. We are tempted to come again. Thanks again.” – Dr and Mrs Malcolm Carruthers

Then as you relax with a superb meal and drinks, interrogate the characters, work together to identify the murderer and decide the motive and method of the crime. Then when coffee is served you can reach your conclusions. On your return to the station, all is revealed.
“I would have no hesitation in recommending the event to any people who may show interest, and can guarantee them an excellent evening with good acting, a very good meal, an excellent hotel, and of course the piece de resistance, all aboard a steam train. We will certainly look forward in eager anticipation for future production.” – Dave Warren

If you have never experienced one of these superb events – now running for 20 years – then book now. You will enjoy a truly fabulous evening of entertainment, intrigue and fine dining whilst steaming through the Sussex countryside in the wonderful elegance of yesteryear. This all is enhanced by a luxurious stay at one of our selected country houses.
“We had a fantastic evening, the venue, atmosphere, food, actors, and guests were all top notch.” – Mark Johnson
Menu

Murderously Good Roast Courgette, Tomato and Parmesan Soup
An assassination of Duck Terrine with Crostini and Chutney
“It is a rare thing to find such a stunning hotel with the genuine friendliness of Horsted Place. From the fluffy robes in the bathroom, to the fresh flowers throughout, everything was done for my benefit and I cannot begin to describe how special this made me feel”

Please keep us informed of anything else you do like this.” – Christine Shubrook
